ACADEMIC PROGRAMME

Marathwada Mitra Mandal School of Interior Design Curriculum Research Centre’s (MMSID-CRC) programme in Interior Design and Decoration is aDiploma in Interior design and Decoration and is structured as 2 years fulltime, 40 hours per week, 32 weeks study cycle per year curriculum.

First Year (Focus on residential interiors):
1) Interior Design Theory I
2) Interior Design Drawing I
3) Theory of Materials I
4) Interior Construction I
5) Graphic Design
6) I. T. Applications I (2D CADD)
7) Practical Training I
8) Communication Skills
9) Development of Generic Skills I

Second Year (Focus on commercial interiors):
1) Interior Design Theory II
2) Interior Design Drawing II
3) Theory of Materials II
4) Interior Construction II
5) Professional Practice
6) I. T. Applications II (3D CADD)
7) Practical Training II
8) Development of Generic Skills II

ADMISSION CRITERIA (Autonomous)   ADMISSION CRITERIA (Government)

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF THE TWO-YEAR (FULL TIME):
1) S.S.C (Xth Std.) or equivalent with minimum 50% marks
2) Other merits being equal, preference shall be given to the candidates having passed S.S.C with drawing or having passed S.S.C with technical subjects or having passed Intermediate Grade Drawing Examination.

Documents to be submitted
The attested photocopies of following documents should be submitted along with the application form:
1) Statement of marks - S.S.C. or equivalent.
2) Latest School Leaving or Transfer Certificate.

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE SECOND YEAR OF THE TWO-YEAR (FULL TIME):
1) Students who have passed the first year from MMSID.
2) Students who have passed second year of three year (part time) or 1st year of two year (full time) diploma in interior design and decoration from any other Institute.
3) Students who have passed second year of architecture from any Institute.
4) Fifth semester of interior design diploma from S.N.D.T University.
5) M. H. Sc. of Family Resource Management having interior design as special subject from S.N.D.T University or equivalent.

Documents to be submitted
Students desiring direct admission to the Second year should submit attested photocopies of following documents along with the application form:
1) Mark list of Qualifying Examination.
2) Certification of having passed the examination from the Head of the Institute.

NOTE: Students short listed for admission will be required to bring their portfolio for the interview and will be admitted only after getting a final approval from the Management of Marathwada Mitra Mandal.

  ELIGIBILITY FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF THE TWO-YEAR (FULL TIME):
1) Passed S.S.C (Xth. Std.) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination having General Science or Physics & Chemistry; Elementary Mathematics or Algebra & Geometry; and English with minimum 50% aggregate marks for open category and 45% aggregate marks for reserved category from recognised schools in Maharashtra State only.
2) Other merits being equal, preference shall be given to the candidates having passed H.S.C. (XIIth. Std.) science stream or XIIth. Std. with M.C.V.C. or Intermediate Grade Drawing Examination or with higher marks in Mathematics at S.S.C. or higher marks in Science at S.S.C. in that respective order.
Documents to be submitted
The attested photocopies of following documents should be submitted along with the application form:
1) Original statement of marks of S.S.C. or equivalent.
2) Latest Original School Leaving / Transfer Certificate.
3) Original statement of marks of H.S.C./M.C.V.C. (Where applicable).
4) Certificate of passing Intermediate Grade Drawing Examination (Where applicable).
5) Domicile certificate (for out of Maharashtra state candidate).
6) Original caste validity certificate for candidates of reserved category.
7) Original latest Non Creamy Layer certificate for NT2, NT3 & O.B.C category.

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE SECOND YEAR OF THE TWO-YEAR (FULL TIME):
1) Students who have passed the first year from MMSID.
2) Students who have passed Second year of the three-year part time OR First year of the two-year fulltime Diploma in Interior Design and Decoration of the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) from any other unaided Institute.
3) Any other approved and subject to the norms, rules and regulations of the MSBTE.
Documents to be submitted
Students desiring direct admission to the Second year should submit attested photocopies of following documents along with the application form:
1) Original statement of marks of the qualifying examination.
2) Latest Original School Leaving / Transfer Certificate.
3) No Objection Certificate from the previous institute.
4) Certificate allowing the transfer from the MSBTE.
5) Students short-listed for admission (Other than MMSID) will be required to bring their portfolio for an interview.                                                                       
STUDENT INTAKE (Autonomous)   STUDENT INTAKE (Government)

The total student intake at present is set at 120 students.A general merit, ability and capability to undergo the training are desired as the eligibility.Although there is no reservation of seats; being committed to the growth and prosperity of Marathwada; students from the region may be given preference.Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s School of Interior Design welcomes the physically impaired, handicapped or challenged students who are having capability and confidence to undergo the training and to carry out the jobs of the concerned discipline.Sons and daughters of Non-resident Indians as well as foreign students are equally welcomed to undergo the training in the Diploma programme.

  The total intake for the MSBTE recognised course at present is 80 students. A general merit, ability and capability to undergo the training are desired as the eligibility. The reservation of seats is as per the latest norms set by the MSBTE. Although there is no reservation for the sons and daughters of Non-resident Indians/foreign students, subject to MSBTE approval, they are equally welcomed in the Diploma programme.
