Late Shri Shankarraoji Chavan, Ex. Home Minister, Govt. of India was founder member and president of the Marathwada Mitra Mandal. Presently, the honourable Shri Vilasraoji Deshmukh, Chief Minister, Government of Maharashtra is the President; heading the Board and the advisory panel that includes many Industrialists, Academicians and Philosophers.

Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s School of Interior Design is an institute of repute and choice for students from all over as well as from outside the state. It is located in the main building and provides excellent facilities for academic pursuits, leisure and entertainment activities. It is equally suitably located for co-curricular activities such as seminars, presentations, workshops, etc. organised by the institute and other professional bodies. regular new additions that has a quite reading room and also equipped with photocopying facility; state of artauditorium (Dnyaneshwar Hall), audio-visually equipped seminar and presentation hall; easily accessible air-conditioned and dedicated computer lab that has the latest hardware and software with back up system; student activity centre; material museum with facility for creativity workshops and construction yard; gymnasium and health centre and all other necessary facilities.
MMSID has trained several designers who are working and practicing their profession not only all over the country but abroad as well. It has earned excellent reputation through the high standards of education and is an ISO 9001 certified Institution.

MISSION STATEMENT
The school believes in offering interesting programme of study in the design discipline that encourages the students to attain higher standards of education. The mission is to prepare the learner to responsibly create interior environments through applied problem solving methods, critical thinking combined with organizational and ethical practice skills such that the built environments are functional and supportive of the social, psychological, physical, economical and behavioural needs of the user.
